Love....everlasting? (Chapter 14)

The news was as stunning as the past events that had occurred, it was out of nowhere that news channels on the television were claiming that the dead body of Aamir was found, the prime suspect was Jenny, owing to her close bond with him and some of her things being found at the crime scene. Her being missing also aided in the assumption of the police's conclusion of her being the prime suspect, now the news channels were displaying her pictures with captions beneath stating a prize to be rewarded to the person responsible for finding her.
Aryan closed the television and took a deep breath, all this was too much for him. Apparently, the love of his life had used Aryan, deceived him for the mere purpose of being with Aamir and was now being suspected as the person responsible for his killing. All this was too much to handle at once. It was made more chaotic, as Aryan had not completely recovered his memory. Maybe, just maybe, if he could get back all his memories, he could make some sense out of him and even help the police solve the thing and prove Jenny innocent, at least of Aamir's murder, one thing was for sure, she could not ever, ever, be held responsible for harming that son-of-a-b*tch even slightly, murdering him was another thing entirely. Something was fishy and Aryan decided to get to the bottom of it.
Aryan called up Vikram,"Hi, dude, whatsup?"
"Yeah, Aryan, tell me, what happened now? Did she turn up finally?"
"Dude, can't I just call you just for the purpose of talking to you?"
"Yeah, you can, but what has been happening lately does kind of point a finger at the question of your immediate phone call, because you know I'm at work and I'm busy."
"Oh, you're at work, I didn't know."
"Oh, then it's fine, I'll call you back."
"Dude, Jenny is the prime suspect in the case of Aamir's death."
"Dude, I'm at work and it's not even April fool's, plus we're out of college, you have to stop cracking such immature jokes."
"Brother, do you really think I would joke about this?"
"Well, she betrayed you, given the circumstances and a subtle realisation in your mind, I thought you could become capable of cracking such jokes."
"No, brother, don't you watch the news?"
"Huh? No, I don't get time."
"Open today's news on your laptop."
"Okay, if you say so."
"Call me back."
"Yeah, just give me 15 minutes."
"Dude, this is FREAKIN' important!"
"Sorry, yeah, 5 minutes!"
"That's better."
The call ended, and Aryan was just surprised at how the situation had turned out, now he understood why he hadn't received a single call from Vikram. The guy hadn't even seen lately what was happening in the world. It was surprising that such an intellectual guy would never be interested in the news, it always puzzled him, although Aryan never watched the news himself, but, what had taken place in the last few months had made him feel that it would have been better to stay updated on what had been happening in the world recently.
He wasn't still able to forget the times he spent with Jenny, maybe that was one of the reasons why he still wanted her to be proven innocent as his love for her which was not crushed yet, was still speaking out for her benefit, and underneath his conscience somewhere, he believed that Jenny had done nothing wrong leaving him, because he loved Aamir, that was specifically the reason why she could never harm Aamir. He remembered once he had tried to make fun of him in the middle of a conversation, she had not lead into the conversation and had remained silent. After a few more minutes of mockery she had told him to stop and had started pointing out what was wrong in Aryan and what he should improve on, rather than pointing out mistakes in Aamir. That should have been his first hint of what was about to happen, but he had thought too highly of her, he had thought she was very practical, he had thought that she just wanted him to become a better person for her.
Nonetheless, what had occurred, had happened, could not be changed, she broke his heart with this utter deception and became a menial disturbance in his life. Nothing more, but still he could not believe that she could ever be held responsible for his death.
Suddenly, the phone ringed, he looked down at it, it was Vikram as expected, it appeared to be ringing in alarm and desperation, a desperation that reeked of want to talk to him as soon as possible, that if he didn't pick up the phone he would get an infinite number of calls, the same situation had happened a number of times between him and Jenny, she had always taken advantage of his love for her, but, here, it was his brother calling, even thought it was merely out of concern for Aryan only, but still the same thing had happened between him and Jenny, only difference between this situation and that was that Vikram was his brother and Jenny knew that Aryan loved her and she didn’t so, she took advantage of his feelings to feed her ego.
Aryan picked up the phone.
"Hello."
"Brother, I am shocked, I have no words to say, first, she runs off with him, leaving you, then she kills him, doesn’t make sense."
"Well, whatever it is, we have to prove her innocent and stop her friends from blabbing to the police about how she kept going on about how she wanted revenge on Aamir for playing with her like a toy."
"Excuse me, a**hole! Why would you do that exactly?"
"Number 1, I want to see her proven innnocent.
Number 2, I want to find her and ask her what the hell happened."
"Okay, understandable. Now when I'll get free, I'll come straight to your house and pull your head out of her missing a** so that we can finally talk some sense. Meet you at 5, gotta go, bye."
"But, Vikram…."
And the call was cut.
